Registration Cancel in Robinvale
All drivers may cancel their registration at all times and request a refund for the period they won't be able use their vehicle or vessel.
All drivers are allowed to apply for a cancelation when:
- The vehicle or vessel has been stolen - In this case you can cancel the vehicle`s registration and request a refund from the day of the theft.
- The driver is no longer able to drive safely - If you have suffered any disease or disability you may cancel the registration of your vehicle.
- When an accident has occurred and the vehicle has been destroyed - In this case you can request the cancelation of your registration and apply for the reimbursement of the money from the day of the accident.
- If you are selling your vehicle or vessel.
- Under other special circumstances.
If you want to request a cancelation of your registration, there are different ways you can proceed.
You can do it online by visiting your VicRoads account and choosing the option “Cancel my registration”. In this case, you may request the refund of the money at the same time. Also, by using this method, you will have to provide real evidence of the destruction of the vehicle`s number plates.
If you prefer you can visit one of the VicRoads customer service centers and bring your vehicle`s number plates along with a valid ID (or any equivalent to prove your identity). Please note that due to the COVID situation this service may vary, until further it is highly recommended to use the online service.
In some scenarios, the VicRoads allows the driver to keep the number plates or to transfer a number plate from a vehicle to another one. In case you prefer to keep your number plate, it will be necessary to inform the VicRoads department and to be aware that a fee will be conducted in order to complete the transaction. How to request a Refund?
If you have cancelled your registration, you can apply for a reimbursement of the unused period to the VicRoads department. Before proceeding with this it is very important that you keep your home address updated in the system at all times, as the corresponding amount of money reimbursed will arrive at your home address in a cheque within 4 weeks.
It is also allowed to request a reimbursement after the cancellation has been conducted, but is our recommendation to request the refund at the same time you request the cancellation to save time and avoid any confusion.
To request a refund, there are 3 different ways you may use:
- Online - Using your VicRoads account.
- In person - Visiting one of the VicRoads customer service centers.
- By mail - Sending a refund form to “VicRoads - GPO Box 1644, Melbourne - VIC 3001”.
Bear in mind that all taxes and administration fees will be deducted from the total amount to reimburse. The total amount will be sended in a cheque to the home address provided in the system in a time period of 4 weeks.
