If your driver's license has been lost, stolen or damaged, you can apply for a new one following these steps.
Replacement of a Driver's license online.
First of all, make sure that your personal information is updated in the system and your home address is correctly written. (Is the driver's own responsibility to keep their personal information updated at all times).
Saying this, and once everything is in order, now the driver can access the VicRoads online portal to request a new driver's license online. The procedure will take only a few minutes. A receipt will be issued at the end of the process, and it will be essential to keep a copy if it until the new license arrives.
All licences issue procedures will take up to ten days until it arrives at your home address. Please consider that if you live overseas or interstate, it can take up to 4 weeks.
In the case of a stolen or lost license, you will be requested to notify the theft to your local police station.
If you prefer you can replace your driver's license using our regular mail service. This procedure will take you some more time than the online service, but the delivery time for the license will also be 10 days (up to 4 weeks in some scenarios).

- Download the document “Replacement Victorian Licence or Learner Permit form” from here
- Fill up the document in capital letters
- Place it in an envelope along with the fee payment (cheque allowed only)
