The probationary Driver's license will be issued for all of those who are starting to drive in the area of Victoria, and for those who have lost their license due to different causes. There will be several requirements in order to achieve a probationary license, and it is under the drivers own responsibility to understand and comply with these minimum requirements.

All drivers must be 18 years old (or older) and legally reside in the area of Victoria in order to get a Probationary driver's license. Also, before applying for the Probationary license, it is very important that the driver helds a learners license for a certain amount of time (Please bear in mind that if during this period, the driver has been suspended or its license has been cancelled, the prior time will be stopped and restarted):

  • The learners permit must be held for at least 12 months if the driver is under 21 years old.
  • The learners permit must be held for at least 6 months for those drivers between 21 and 25 years old.
  • The learners permit must be held for at least 3 months if the driver is 25 years old or older.

Please bear in mind that if during this period, the driver has been suspended or its license has been cancelled, the prior time will be stopped and restarted.

After you check if you comply with all the minimum requirements for the license, proceed to book an appointment and study for the relevant tests.
