This process can be done before proceeding to the payment. All registrations are automatically issued for 12 months, but each driver can change this period for a shorter one, like for 3 or 6 months.

Cheque payment:
- Using BPAY (TO be able to use this, note that the biller code and account references will be available for you on the renewal notification or online at myVicRoads account).
- Payment by email sending a cheque and the renewal notice to: VicRoads, GPO Box 1644, Melbourne VIC 3001.

- Visiting the VicRoads customer service near you.
- Visiting the Australia Post Office.
It is very important that you keep in mind that driving a vehicle with an expired registration, can lead to expensive police fines (up to $1500).
